China's black (grey) talc is mainly produced in shandong, guangxi, sichuan, jiangxi and other provinces and regions, although the current production is not large, but once the market has demand, the potential to expand production is great.

The market demand is about 2.1 million tons. Therefore, in general, China's supply of talc still exceeds demand. However, the production capacity of high-grade white talc raw materials in China is around 500,000 t, which has been reaching the limit, so it is unlikely to increase production further. The domestic and international market demand for high-grade white talc is at least 900,000 t, so the supply of this part of talc will be short for a long time. The supply of low grade talc, especially black (gray) talc, exceeds the demand, so its output is still likely to increase further.

The future growth point of China's talc industry lies in two aspects:

Higher value of high grade raw materials;

Expanding the export or deep processing of medium and low-grade products. China is the world's largest source of white talc, but 80% of the products are exported to foreign countries in the form of raw materials.
